Step-By-Step kitchen design in the philippines

TIP: Establish a budget range that works for your family; don't just wait to see what the kitchen designer comes up with. When you know how much you want to invest, your designer can guide you toward products that will allow you to stay within budget.

Think about what styles appeal to you, what items you must have, how much you want to spend and what size and shape you prefer.

Keep in mind that every kitchen has the same basic design elements:

  • Cabinets

  • Appliances

  • Countertops

  • Flooring

  • Sinks and faucets plumbing fixtures

  • Walls, ceilings, windows, moldings and other architectural details

The exterior of your house has to follow a certain architectural style which has to be found also in the interior; make a kitchen that does reflect the overall-style.

Do you spend many time in the kitchen or only use it to make coffee? Save some money by selecting the right size.
Get together with all the members of your family and ask them for their input. Kids count too, this is an opportunity to make it easy for them to help cook and clean.

Kitchen cabinets have the most impact on the 'looks'; keep architectural integrity in mind. Also they are the parts that stay longest, read 15 years or more...
So make a wise decision. If you want to add a personal touch, do so with fun pulls, colorful countertop appliances or unique accessories.

Make sure you have enough storage for all those plates and pots—and the accessories like tray dividers and pull-out shelves that will make them a snap to find.

Appliances; which do you realy need and where to put them? Make it a cook-friendly place.
Be realistic about your needs; big professional appliances may pack more power than you need.

Design with the future in mind, and not just that of your kids. Ergonomic choices like raised dishwashers will keep you kitchen functional as you grow older.
Remember that it is very difficult or even impossible and very expensive to change major parts of the kitchen lateron.

Common Kitchen mistakes in the Philippines

Lighting; make a solid plan for that to set the appropriate mood, keep creepy shadows away etc.

Accesibility; if you're tired of always walking across your kitchen to get to the refrigerator then move it!

To get started; use magazines and the Internet, gather pictures of kitchen styles and products that you like; simply show your kitchen designer some examples (pictures) and he will make it for you.
